Does anyone know of any really great places for espresso in North York that I could take a friend who's willing to drop her Starbucks habit and try something new?

Hi Theresa,

No I don't know of any in North York, & there's been many threads on good/GREAT cafes in Toronto & surrounding area. I'd heartily recommend Ontario & Eastern Canada Intelligentsia rep Matt Lee's Manic Coffee, Bull Dog Coffee. {;-D

Also Mercury, & 2 new Mercury cafes opening up too., see here for pics & the rest of the thread too; "Re: 2 new Mercury Espresso (toronto) locations coming soon - featuring Synesso"

Are you sure Matt's still officially affiliated with Intelly Craig?

You've heard differently Anthony?

P.S. You're right! I've been out of the loop for a while. I just called Matt, & he's not been affilated in that capacity for approx 3 months., to devote all his time & energy to running the cafe & serving his customer base (not spreading himself out too thin) & servicing his machinery.

Thanks Anthony & sorry! {;-)

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately Manic and Bulldog are too far away.  I guess I'll just have to go exploring.
