Hey guys, Just got a Behmor so I'm interested in buying greens to start a stash to play/learn with. Affordable Brazilian would be good for that IMO and I'm also interested in others origins with good cupping reviews.
We are in the Toronto area. I would suggest getting another, two, or three people in Quebec City with the same need as you and split a purchase from here:
Good coffee, good price, and good folks. Hope that helps.
In particular check out Stubbies distribution of Brazil Moreninha Formosa ... 15 pounds plus shipping to Canada for $79.00 US. That would be 5.26 a pound before splitting to lower shipment cost.

I quickly converted to Sweet Marias for green beans.
While I was alarmed at the cost of shipping at first, but after doing the math, I get great beans for $6.50-$7.50 a pound by ordering a little more at a time (we roast in our coffee shop, so this is perhaps a little easier for me to justify). This price compares well to others I've tried and the quality is high and reliable.
Apart from the quality and financial reasons, I really appreciate the information on the beans, the farms and the processing details, the website has incredible information. Some intimate knowledge about origins and processing philosophies speaks more to me then certifications. Sweet Marias clearly loves coffee and I don't believe it would be appropriate of me to use the research and reviews at SM as a guide to selection only to buy the beans at a discount elsewhere...where the investment in research is ignored.
I have only tried a few suppliers now, but I'm no longer searching.
