Hello, I have bought a lot of milk for testing purpose and wow, the taste can be really different from one make to another.
I have tried Lactancia 2% and 3.25% with plastic can and bags, Beatrice 2% in plastic can, Quebon 2% and 3.25% in cardboard box, plastic box and plastic bag.
The taste for the same brand with the same cream % is different from one contenant to another. Also, I have found the taste to be different from month to month.
Now, I have a problem to find a milk in 2% with a good taste. I am alone ???

Milk comes from a lot of different farms before getting blended, transformed and packed. There is not a lot of transformation factories out there, but there may be enough to get some kind of a "terroir effect" in some regions. In 2003, about 20 factories were producing the milk you buy in bags and cartons in the province of Quebec. However, it's not true to think the milk you buy comes from around the place you live. For example, milk produced down the Bas-Saint-Laurent must often be carried through 300-400 km by truck before getting to the transformation factory, where it's blended to the milk coming from whatever other place this factory is sourcing. Silly when you know milk is the main revenue source of farmers down there.
Plus, cows have different diets depending on the season (fresh stuff is scarce in March).
Plus, you don't know from which factory your carton comes and if it's coming from the same place the week after.
If you take all that into account, it's safe to say your mouth isn't lying to you when milk seems to taste different.
Right now, in love with almost every Liberté product I buy. For the last 3 months, i've bought whole (3,8%) milk for my daughter. It's a bio product, but the main purpose of it was to get more fat from less liquid. I've tasted every pint I bought and I don't find it different from pint to pint. They have 2% bio milk too, and, if I'm not mistaken, they happen to have non-bio products. You must try a whole milk macchiato or cap. The little difference is stunning!
When I'm not stealing my daughter's milk, I'm sticking with my Québon.

Very interesting thread... I've been using exclusively Québon 2% and was curious about using whole milk to get a creamier drink. I'll keep my eyes open for the Liberté products :)
