SJBC (Sam James Coffee Bar) has opened a location underground at 150 King (east end of the corridor leading to St. Andrew station). So finally I can get a good espresso without a 15 minute walk outside.
The espresso I had at SJBC was very good and very bright (which I quite like). They are very particular about their brewing (weighing, timing) so consistency should not be a problem.
They are but a stones throw from Aroma - so they could use some support from people who actually appreciate good coffee.

you can overextract coffee in less than 20 seconds, all you need is humid grounds!! and everyone does it now and then. I find it endemic at Sam James, but what i find problematic is the attitude. I have spoken with Sam once at the harbord store, and he is a pretty nice guy, i think its the people he hires.

You hope the entrepreneur goes bankrupt because an employee was rude to you. I hope the guy with the guts to try to compete with Charbucks holds his own and doesn't go bankrupt. I don't care of someone is rude to his employee or not, but you are probably currently assuming I'm being rude to you. *Shrug* maybe he deserves it. Unless the coffee sucks. Then I don't care if he goes bankrupt. Then I hope he gets eaten by star-nosed moles. There. How's that! Darn... Now I want to try this awful espresso so I can rant.
