I frequent SJCB because it is the only place on the PATH that I know of where you can get anything like a decent espresso. And it is the only place within a short walk from where I work. (Dark Horse Spadina is a good 15 min away, but I see they have a new location on John - I'll have to try it when the weather isn't too bad).
While he has the right to not accept cards, I find his "reason #5", insulting, immature and unprofessional. This is the 21st century after all - some people just prefer not to carry cash.
If I have to choose between a bad attitude and bad coffee, I guess I'll put up with the bad attitude.

Seems kinda tryhard to spout off about cards like that... you don't take cards... uh ok whatever, good for you if that's your thing.
...but I suppose a barista job is a special badge for many of the upandcoming I just dropped out of art school and am starting a band hipsters... no doubt for many some ego can make its way into the too-cool-for-you-whatever attitude and they want to let us know about how hip they are...
...or maybe he's just genuinely frustrated about all the coffees, packs of smokes and slices of pizza that he maxed his credit card out on while living on student loans before dropping out of 3rd year art school...
that said I'll echo what gregg said, I have a high tolerance for attitude when it = good coffee...
