Just curious....we've dealt with Brian at MacCaws for a few years now, and noticed when I went to his website that it re-directs
to Birds & Beans now. Is Brian still active with the new outfit, or is he out of the business?

Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the Coffeegeek forums!
I don't know about that, but going to his website URL before returned a "page not found"., I imagine that would mean he was out of business?, or possibly re-organising., dunno. When his website was working, he had info there about being partnered with Merchants of Green Coffee.

I just got a reply back to an email from Brids and Beans, seems Brian has left the coffee
business, and they picked up his domain name. Really too bad...I had a lot of excellent dealings with
Brian, and a lot of superb coffee

After I saw your posting Wayne, I phoned Birds & Beans right then, but it just rang & rang till the answering machine picked it up. They were probably in the middle of a roast or something.
I had great dealings also!, I bought my HWP on Mar 5/01 & Alp on Oct 17/01 from Brian. The HWP has 417 100 gram roasts on it!

Hi Craig,
I know what you mean. We got our HP from Brian, eventually wore it out last year! I know we went through at least 100Kgs of bean in it before it went south on us! Bought the Alp from Brian too, a few months ago.

We've never dealt with Birds & Beans, any comment on what's good, and what's not?

Birds and Beans are excellent.  They just introduced a decaf espresso blend (my wife only drinks decaf), and it is excellent.  They ship fast, and if you buy the 12.5 pound bag, the prices aren't terrible.  Give them a try.

Hi Wayne,

What Brad says!
I have had all the exact same organic beans that Birds & Beans carries as samples (for my green bean biz), from the broker for cupping & they were all excellent! {:-)

I haven't dealt with the company, & the only time that I went there., there was no one around.
