I had an espresso at GE on 11 St yesterday. It was okay, but again I had to coach the barista after the counterperson pulled out a big (5 oz) cup for my "espresso." So he (barista) uses single PF (not sure if the basket is a single but this pf has only one spout) and all is looking fine except he lets the shot go until the whole cup (the smaller ones, which are 2.5 or maybe 3 oz?) is full. It wasn't a terrible shot but would have been much better if he'd cut it when the cup was half full like I asked.
I noted that the bean bags at this GE have dates on them. I said that it was great to see roast dates, and the PBTC said that those were the dates the bags arrived, not roast dates- Russ can you confirm this or maybe I should ask Mr Going? Roast dates would be preferable!
I stopped in GE on 7th Ave today to see how their bags were dated and there were none at all. I didn't get an espresso so I can't comment on it. They do really good business there I must add. There is a ton of room for expansion in the coffee market in Calgary, it hasn't remotely reached saturation.

...... Also the fact that I am more concerned about good tasting coffee than a stupid flower, heart or whatever on top of a latte doesn't mean I don't belong here, I just have different reasons for drinking coffee.
I agree with you, but you may not see my post because I recognized that you posted only in Beb of last year. Unfortunately, it seems that this forums do not allow any "different" opinions, and views (not by Mark, I am sure).
Can this fact remind someone to recognize what they had done? Or, still believe as always.
I missed this thread in Feb of last year, and was not supporting him.
The time was flying, and the improved shots and the lots of latte arts and more were leading to a shot in more than 100 ml, if I remember it well.
Where is the god shots, and ......
If anyone would see the pretty latte art (with undrinkable espresso), here is a lot,
My doubt, if someone push or force the owner of a cafe to do something and the business of the cafe lost, who is in charge of it? Of course the owner of the mentioned cafe must pay for everything, but else?
Is that normal thing to do in those people's normal life? I mean to force someone do his (who run the business) business according to others' (who comment) understanding and idea?
Is there any different understanding among the posts here? Or we need only one?
I would not offend anyone, but just a thought about such things.
