So I happened upon the Z Cafe today, funny name as there really is no cafe but there was gear. Silvia, Expobar, Cafiza, naked porta filters, Intelligentsia gear. Bought bloody time in Winnipeg. They seem to be set up somewhat to deal with the commercial side of things but also the enthusiast like us. I had a good conversation with one of the owners and I don't think she was maybe on the same page with some things (she liked her Lavazza beans and her super-automatic) they where trying to make things better from what I could see. It's just good to be able to walk in and see decent gear on the shelf. They are also selling Intelligentsia coffee but the roast dates where a little on the old side. I am sure this will change though as their business increases and so does their turn-over. Did I also mention they have a great website and you can order online and then just go pick it up?

Stopped in & had a great visit with the owner (Peany? sorry for the bad spelling).
The shop does have some great gear.  They specialize in espresso gear & seem to really know their stuff.  They have some nice brew machines as well, I hope they expand their line into Vac pot, Bodum's  etc.

I will make it a regular stop on my rounds in the city! Love their location.
I agree the web site is nicely done. http://www.zcafe.ca/site/default.aspx

Great to see you in town Zcafe!
