The Coffee Show Istanbul / Coffee, Cafes and Equipments

28-30 September 2007 Istanbul Hilton Exhibition Center will be hosting The Coffee Show Istanbul.

With in the last 2 years Turkish Coffee market scored 300% growth and 180 million US$ trading volume, gets great attention from world wide coffee chains and producers. The Coffee Show will be hosting best known coffee producers, chains, roasters, coffee equipment suppliers. Also an international coffee conferance will take place at the exhibition center by attendants from Europe Speciality Coffee Association, ICO (International Coffee Association) and Europian Coffee Federation.

The date has changed. I do have a stand at the fair, but because the Ramadan period, decided the organizers to move the date and the place to :

23 - 25 November 2007
WOW Exhebition Centre (Beylikduzu)

Merhaba Serif,

Sabahin bir koru buraya bakmayi aklima getirmemis olsaydim (ki niye baktim onu da bilmiyorum) su an Hilton yolunda olucaktim, bu sebeble cok tesekkurler. Aslinda hem guzel bir haber, kahvedelisi sitesini bitirebilecegim, hem de can sikici, zira kendimi fuara gidiyorum diye bayagi bir hazirlamistim =) Ayrica artik kesin karar vermistim "ben ve bir iki kisiden baska kahveyle ilgilenen yok koca ulkede" diyordum kendi kendime.

Son dakika da olsa bosuna gitmekten seni kurtarabildiysem ne guzel bana :)
Ben aslinda "Kahve" ile alakali her turlu alanda faaliyet gostermekteyim ve ilk alanlarimdan biri "Egitim" kismidir. Avustralya'da 4-5 yil boyunca Coffee Barista Trainer alaninda egitim verdim, teknikler gosterdim diger cafe'lere. Avustralya'da Barista turnuvalara katildim, en yuksek seviye olan 4. Seviye AASCA akreditasyon programina dahil sertifikalarim var... sertifikalar da verebilecektim ki, Turkiye'ye geldim (dondum).

Su anda da SCAE (Specialty Coffee Ass. Europe) Akreditasyon programi dahilinde sertifikalar vermek icin kollari sivamaya basladim, kriterleri ve evraklari tamamlamaya calisiyorum (Eylul 2007).

Neyse, sanirim daha cok konusulacak ve tartisilacak islerimiz var, mutlaka kahve severler ile bir ara bir yerde bulusup guzel bir bilgi aktarimi ve sohbet edelim en kisa zamanda.

ben de burada Turklerle karsilacagima inanamazdim. kahveye karsi o kadar ilgisiziz ki. sevindim bu konuda konusabilecegim birileri olduguna...

Hi Len, just saw this post as well :)

To be honest the coffee&tea show was a disaster. The organizer didn't promote enough (the company's focus mainly on medical fairs/expos). There was mot many attendants but lots of press there at the first and second day so that was one of the 2 good parts I guess :D

Actually a month later after coffee&tea show there was this other expo called "hoteq" for hotel equipments. It was way much better than this. Also we got our first barista championship (assisted by SCAE members) you can read everything about it here --> "1st Turkey Coffee Barista Competition 13th - 17th December 2007" There, you'll also find link to SCAE page about this organization.
