Any recommandations ???

I like Zoff in Leuven : italian style coffee bar, looks a bit like in the 80's, and great coffee of course :-)

Caffènation is clearly the best place for coffee in Antwerp. Follow the owner's blog here.

Barista is a good place in Gent.

In Brussels, I have only found two truly good places for coffee:

Karsmakers. They serve excellent coffee, made with an impressive Kees van der Westen espresso machine. Nice place to read/work and relax. They also sell Vibiemme machines. Very close to European Parliament.

Blomqvists. Great espresso bar with Scandinavian wooden décor and a La Marzocco espresso machine. Close to Place St Boniface in Ixelles.

Enjoy!

I absolutely agree with everybody else about Caffènation -- easily the best coffee shop I've found anywhere in Belgium. I make a point of stopping there whenever I'm in Antwerp.

I hear through the grapevine that Koffie Onan in Leuven will start roasting its own beans in the next few weeks. In my opinion Koffie Onan already had the best beans in Leuven, though they were hit-or-miss on freshness, so I am very excited about this!

There is also a coffee shop in the Smetsplein in Leuven next to the Thai House restaurant -- the big circular place next to the Mercure hotel. I can't remember what it's called, and thanks to their weird opening hours I have never had their coffee myself, but my wife really liked it when she tried it.

Caffénation, indeed a top location. Passed by Koffie Onan in Leuven yesterday, and I must say I was fairly impressed by their wide array of choices, even cup of excellence. Coffee was nice and aramotic, and the barista really had attention to the deails of pulling a good espresso, kudos!

New place in Brussels: Aksum Coffeehouse in the Hoogstraat/Rue Haute in Brussels, specialised in Ethiopian Coffees, and operated by 2 Finnish guys. They also do their own roasting, but try to limit the number of different blends, making sure you're experiencing a fresh roast every time. Worth a visit when in Brussels!

Délisa  (delisa.be) in Bruges is amazing. The owner Sabine is really lovely and even let my boyfriend and I try the machine in exchange for some latte art help. We went in after seeing a chemex in the window, and after 4 days and many coffees finally dragged ourselves off to Brussels. If you like nice coffee (filter or espresso/ espresso based) or are just after a coffee related chat with someone who knows what they are talking about, I would recommend it. She also sells great chocolate if your interested.

I know everyone adores Caffènation, but I personally never liked it.
My favorite spot thus far in Antwerp has been Normo (previously known as Bar Choq, before they moved to a new location). Just like Caffènation they roast their own beans, and have a lot of different brewstyles (espresso, hario V60, aeropress,...).
In all fairness, I still have to visit the new Caffènation location.

UPDATE:
I found a site yesterday that's mapping all of the quality coffee bars in Belgium. It's a work in progress, but this link will take you to a google maps page with all the coffee bars pointed out:

I found it through facebook, the FB page is:

life's to short to drink bad coffee
preferred brewing method: AeroPress

wishlist:
MyPressi Twist, Espro Press, Coava Disk, Syphon Brewer
