Hi everyone,
Given the things I have heard about the quality of coffee generally found in Germany, I'm not very optimistic about the answers to this next question. That said, I'll try it anyway. Does anyone know of a good coffee store in Hamburg, Germany? I'm happy to bring my friend beans from Amsterdam by train, but she is too much of an addict to have the last from one visit to the next. Any suggestions are much-appreciated!

Sorry to obtuse, but have you tried a google search? Just curious, and apologies if you've already taken that route. I can definitely understand wanting to get the feedback of this community first :D

Good call, I hadn't stopped to think when the question popped up :). Google gives some helpful suggestions, such as a place called Elbgold Kaffee. http://www.elbgold.com/, another called quijote http://www.quijote-kaffee.de/%C3%BCber-quijote/, and also http://www.die-roesterei.com/kaffeehaus/. Things are looking good for Germany after all :). I'll be in Hamburg in two weeks time, and will give them a shot. Or two, if enjoyable. Anyway, I'll post my opinion below for reference. In the mean time, if anyone has visited these places or knows of others, feel free to share your thoughts.

Thank you for your suggestions! I have gone to Black Delight myself last weekend, and agree with your assessment. Definitely worth visiting for anyone who goes to Hamburg. Many thanks for the other tips as well, I will try out the other spots during future visits, and post my experiences here.
