Until recently Drury appeared to have the sole UK licence for domestic Rancilio machines. I see now though that Hasbean are selling them.
The Silvia is £295 at the former, and £350 at the latter - a no-brainer you might think, but I would stress that while I have never heard bad things about Drury, Hasbean have a superb reputation for customer service.
Some other web dealers (e.g. Bella Italia?) do sell the Silvia, but I think they are probably EU imports.

Thanks Bainsy, i have found the Silvia for £289 includes postage at MyEspresso in Coventry. I hear what you say about customer service though. I spoke with MyEspresso today, Peter, and he was very helpful. Didnt try to sell me anything else or such as a more expensive machine when we had a chat.
I havnt heard of anything bad about the Silvias, all praise. Not sure what to do ? The MyEspresso sounds like a damn good deal ? What would be the disadvantage of a EU import apart from say operating voltage (220, 230, 240Volt )?

my espresso stole £150 from me when I had to return a faulty machine. this idiot peter was made aware of the problem the same day the machine arrived yet refunded my money less £150.

hi, i noticed the other post and northlondonhippy has replied also, can you tell us a little more on the story ? how long since you had this issue ? has he returned emails ?
I bought a grinder from him and to be honest it arrived much sooner than i expected.

Might not be relevant to you anymore, but the Hasbean price for the silvia has dropped. Think its £290 now. Think there is a delivery charge though. Drury's do not chrage for delivery.
I'd be interested to hear who you end up buying from and how it goes.

I may very well go with Drury, spoke with them yesterday, i keep holding out to see if i find something better online or on ebay for instance. Id love to get a more stable machine that will steam & brew without any delays but at the moment i just cant justify it to the Mrs lol. I love to modify so after the warranty is up ill be doing a PID and timer, but first i need to "get some skills". My background is Elec/Electronics in the training & engineering industries so i may even knock up a siemens plc, if i do, i will post and make available the program logic and I/O setup on CG.
Drury & Hasbean come highly recommended on CG, i got my Rocky grinder from MyEspresso simply because Drury didnt have any in stock. Both Drury and MyEspresso dont charge for delivery which i think makes a big difference but i think Drury have the edge on recomendations out of those two. Hasbean have dropped there price for the Silvia, but still charge for delivery :( (£305 plus postage)
I see on ebay lots of 2 group plus machines going real cheap used. They seem to big for the domestic kitchen, so seem to sell for less than you would pay for a new E61 / HX machine, so if i end up with a utility room and a bigger counter top then that may be the way to go ?

HI I have been reading the forum re drury or hasbean/ my espresso. I bought a silvia a number of years ago from drury and I have found them excelent. The guy that deals with spares is well informed and really helpfull and has on occasion sent me parts free of charge and very promtlly. I also buy their coffee by post {Roma } blend and find it a suitable cup of coffee. Cheers and good Luck mctavish.

sorry for the delay in replying. I don't come on here as often as I used to..
Right, well as stated above, the machine I bought from My Espresso was faulty. It had a glaringly obvious manufacturing fault. No doubt that it was a manufacturing fault yet Peter was rude when I reported it (the same date as receipt of the machine). He thought that I should give it some time and things would settle. I tried to explain that using the machine would be like trying to drive a car with one wheel missing - that was exactly how it was. The machine could not be used without a replacement part but he refused.
Incidentally, he was very polite to be BEFORE I bought my machine and VERY rude when I reported a fault.
He swore at me on several occasions. This was particularly disappointing (I did not swear at him at any point, nor was I rude etc).
