FWIW

When I first started in coffee, Steve, after sometime pointed me in the direction of TMC as a friend.  I wanted to learn more and he suggested I try that forum.  I have in the past bought coffee 'elsewhere' and Steve has never taken offence to this.  On occassion he has very kindly opened his roastery to a visit, taken the time to go through cuppings and explain a lot about roasting and the coffee business.

I don't feel the need to defend Steve, however it is obvious that 'Buffard' has no personal knowledge of who of what Steve is like, his ethos and commitment to roasting.

If he was to take a good look, he would find many other roasters up and running that are evry profitable and much larger than Hasbean and I am not talking about the extremly large commercial roasters either.

There is plently of choice, transparency if you will look for it.  Unfortunately comments such as yours, whether intended as personal or otherwise, do very little to help the efforts of much smaller roasters.  It could easily be seen that you are acting as a spokesperson and as such spread the message that thee is a lot of hate out there.

I agree with Mark, end this offensive vendetta.

I am not speaking as Steve's defender, far from it.  He can look after himself, neither am I going to try to make any assumptions about you as I do not know you.  Take Marks advice, stop going on the offensive please as it is just distastful.

Hello

It seems Buffard has upset everyone again.

I just want to re-re-iterate that there is absolutely no connection between Buffard(John) and our organisation, except for the fact that he is currently finishing some project work for us on our website, that he started (and we paid for) some time ago.

John works in banking, and because of security practices at work (where he spends most of his time) he can only access many restricted internet sites (including forums) via remote access to other systems, where internet access is less restricted (this is standard practice in some areas of banking IT). One of the systems he has access to (with my permission) is our computer network here at the roastary.

I guess this is why it has been suggested that we are the same person or in cahoots, as our internet footprint will be similar or identical on many occasions.

Coffeegeek has blocked access to these forums from our network at the roastery - I guess in an attempt to block Johns access to the forum.
John has access to many systems, and is not vulnerable to these types of manouvers (should he wish to post again), so I would suggest that you revoke his account instead.

However, we are vulnerable, and can no longer access the forums - so I guess I wont be able to contribute any longer to the CoffeeGeek scene, which is a shame.

EDIT : For those that have been in contact with me about various projects, please continue to email me at dean@coffeebeanshop.co.uk.
