Hi All,

I'm getting into coffee now, and I found this forum - and boy! do you guys like your coffee!

I don't think I'm a serious as some of the members here (yet!) but I still enjoy a nice coffee.

I have a humble Gaggia Syncrony compact, and tonight, I'm off to the Square Mile Roasters to get my very first bag of Fresh Roast!

I feel intimidated with all the options out there, but i thought the best way to start is to get stuck in there with a bag of El Tortilla.

Kind Regards,

Sam

Hi all, i got a nice bag of Square Mile's espresso blend yesterday, and it is really nice !!

you can definatley taste the difference with this fresh roast.

Jim from Square Mile was very helpful, and I had a lovely cup of coffee there too!

looking forward to finishing the bag and going back for more...

Hey! It's great to hear you're getting into coffee! And believe me, it's a really slippery slope into Geekdom.

As for Square Mile, I've yet to try them, but I've heard nothing but good things, and Jim is a really good bloke. Really knows his stuff as well, as does his other half, Anette.

If you want to delve further into the UK coffee scene, I'd direct you to a couple of sites;

www.coffeeforums.co.uk - A UK based coffee forum. It's really helpful, and has everyone from home baristi through to Jim Hoffmann and Hugo Hercod.
www.commongrind.co.uk/ - The UK's first mainstream coffee blog. Really good stuff.
http://thirdwaveuk.blogspot.com - Yeah, okay, it's my blog, but I hope you can find it helpful.

Anyway, like I say, great to hear you're getting into it. Keep us all updated!

Cheers,
Seamus.

Sam, whereabouts in NE London are you based? We are probably only a few miles apart

How was the El Portillo? I have been drinking that for the past week
