I am interested in a Barista half-day/day course for my husband who loves coffee & would love to learn a bit more about it. I bought him an espresso maker Xmas 2010 & he has read books since so has a fair knowledge but I think he would enjoy learning more.
We are planning on a trip away possibly London in Sep & would like to know if anyone has been on a course & if they would recommend it.
I looked at the London School of Coffee but at £178 per person when I'm really only going along to show support etc seems a bit steep, but then I don't want to book at cheaper one & regret it!
We are willing to go other places as long as there are other things to do in those places! We live in Lincolnshire.

Hello coffeewidow2012, I'm hoping to attend The London School of Coffee this Saturday (18th Aug 12) - I'll let you know how it goes.
Is it such a gamble, if you're going to London anyway? You'll both have a great trip, lots to do and see in London, good weather AND he can tell you all about his newly acquired skills all the way home. You'll even be able to look forward to hours and hours of coffee-making demonstrartions as soon as you get back indoors :) You'll love it!

We provide a City & Guilds accredited barista training course (3 days), or alternatively either a half day course, or a one day course, with a maximum of four people attending. Our training centre is in Basingstoke, Hampshire, 5 minutes from Junction 6 or 7 of the M3, or 1 hour from Waterloo on the train - http://www.baristatrainingcourses.co.uk/.
