Hello all,

Does anyone know or recommend a good coffee roaster around the West Berkshire area that would sell freshly roasted coffee beans to the general public?

I have done some research but did not find anything.

Regards,

Alberto.

Try Workhouse Coffee in Reading, or more specifically, Reading West near the station - very highly rated.

I have been pointed to Happy Donkey on Reading by a work colleague. I think they only do orders by post though.

Alberto, I used to work for the old ICL in Bracknell and traveled frequently from the USA to your area.  I always enjoyed it tremendously, but never found any coffee worth discussing.  The beer was so good though, I had no cause for complaint.

That was quite a while back, so I trust the coffee situation has improved - and at no expense to good English beer I hope.  Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I will pay WorkhouseCoffee a visit at some point again. I've been there before and used their coffee, but the fact that they just leave the roasted coffee beans exposed to air and don't roast on a daily basis made me feel a bit unease.

I did go there and had an espresso the other day and must admit it was excellent.

I used happy donkey before, but not for coffee beans. They are not a roaster, so would leave them alone for that matter.

And lastly, the beer scene in Reading has certainly not suffered! The annual Reading Beer festival is great if you are into real ales.

Thank you for your feedback!
