Houstonians seem to be popping up all over the forum lately, expressing interest in meeting each other. So let's give it a go, shall we? (What - you thought I was going to say "let's give it a SHOT", didn't you? :P )
Not that my vote counts more than anybody else's, but I'd prefer to meet somewhere (1)centrally located, that (2)serves good coffee, (3)on a weekend. I'd also prefer to make it just a get-together for this first thing, not a barista jam - that means no hauling of machines, no big production - "just coffee talk. Y'know. No big whoop." :) (Of course if you really want to bring your shiny new tamper or bottomless PF or Scott Rao's new coffee book along to show it off, well, that's different.)
To keep forum clutter down, please respond to this thread with your interest, availability, opinions, suggestions, etc.

I've been lurking for a very long time.
I try not to post because, frankly, I don't think I have much to add. But if it's a get-together in Houston you're wanting, I'm in.
I'm available on the 24th at 3 PM. I'm too lazy to bring any of my stuff anyway (unless it's my homebrew, and I'm *never* that lazy). I think it would be great to meet other people who don't think spending more than $50 on a grinder is absolutely crazy.

Good evening,
I'd love to get together with a bunch of geeky coffee people, but Saturdays are just bad for me - I'm at work all day. Sundays, though are a different story. I can talk to Max on Tuesday unless someone gets to him first.
Sunday works for me too, but would anybody like to start a little earlier, say 1 or 2pm? If not, 3 is ok too.
I finally made it to Catalina yesterday, and Max said he'd be glad to have us. He might even have a little something special for us to try... just maybe... ^_^
Well I have been watching this thread with anticipation hoping I could meet all of you, but unfortunately I will not be able to make it. I am disappointed I will not be able to be there.
Hope you guys have a great time, looking forward to hearing how it goes!
