Does anyone have any knowledge of Parisi Coffee in Kansas City? They are a roaster/wholesaler, from what I understand. Can anyone give me an honest assessment of their coffee?

Many thanks!

I've never been to their roastery, I don't even know if they have a cafe-type location at all. But I've had their coffee, french-pressed (I don't remember for sure, but I think it was their Sumatra) and I was NOT impressed. It was super dark, with a lot of oil all over the beans, and just tasted kind of musty to me.

For coffee in KC I would suggest Broadway Roasting Company in Westport, or else PT's.

I would agree with peregrina. Check out PT's. Jeff knows his roasting and is a good guy. I have also tried out several of Parisi's roasts and the ones that I tasted were all French roast or deeper - not even a hint of any origin character - just a charred, burnt taste.

I have to speak up.  PT's is great, Broadway is great, high end Roasterie coffees are great.  Parisi is in the running for quality and putting the love in the coffee.  Taste and see, but only taste from something off the website or by knocking on the door.  It's simply a building full of coffee freaks that started and survived the revolution from all dark roasts, flavored coffees and old world thinking of the company's past.

There's no cafe, but there is an open door.  Just don't step on the pigeons lurking outside...

I don' t know I am pretty obsessed with this coffee.  I like to go eat at Eggtc just south of the plaza, and one of their blends is their house coffee and it taste amazing.  I don't know what they serve but I imagine it isn't a dark (or french roasts) but more of a breakfast roast, if that makes any sense.  I think it may be either their sunrise or bistro blend, and I thought it had an amazing and original flavor.  The only coffee that I had better was in the Orchid Hotel in Manilla, Philippines, no idea what they were serving.
