Want to check out some prosumer grade machines, accessories, barista supplies, etc. in person.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

The closest thing I've seen to what your describing is at Williams Sonoma in the mall. Sorry, but I don't think that's what your looking for. This is probably a bad suggestion, but you may want to attend Coffee Fest in Chicago. Yes, there is an admission fee ($30). Yes, It's supposed to be an industry-only event. No, they don't do background checks.

There are plenty of espresso machines there, some home units, some single group commercial, and some that blur the line between the two. Many of them are plumbed in. Some booths will let you pull a shot. Don't expect the sales people to give you the time of day if you tell them your considering one for home. Don't expect them to pull good shots.

Tampers, pitchers, grinders, group brushes... you name it.

There's some light entertainment: the latte art competition and the Great Lakes Regional Barista Comp (I think it will be at Coffee Fest this year). I know, it's more of a vacation than a store but it's all I've got.
