Subject: Drive through coffee stand in Haslett, MI (near Lansing)

On Marsh Road & Saginaw HWY, in the parking lot of Save a Lot, there is a little coffee drive through named Sip It. The man (Byron) and his Wife own this stand, and he works in the afternoons. I pulled through and he noticed my Barista magazine in the passenger seat and invited me in to the stand. He gets his coffee custom roasted from a place I can't recall the name of on the west side of Lansing, and gets rid of it within 10 days. He, his wife, and his daughter attended the midwest Barista school, I took that as a little testament to how much they care about quality. While it was not GREAT espresso, it was definitely the best I've found within 30 miles of the area. I recommend checking it out, they have great potential, and its nice to have a mom & pop shop still around in the area.

Hey thanks for the heads up!  I live far west of there in the thriving community of Sunfield, but I will have to make a trip in when I am at work.  Do you know what time they open in the morning?

I do not, sorry. If I was still out in Haslett, I'd swing by and check it out. I'm in Cincinnati for the Holidays (we get long breaks in the academic world), and have to find some new coffee shops.

Thanks for the tip. I'm in Detroit (Royal Oak), but I go to GR a couple times a month. Haslett might be out of the way a bit but I might give it a shot one time. Not that many decent places in the Detroit area either, unfortunately.

Not sure if you've checked out the other Michigan thread, but Mad Cap is opening out in Grand Rapids soon. I'd check them out next time you're out there!

I'll look it up, thanks. Always looking for a good place. I'll check out the MI thread, too.
