Though I'm currently in PA, there's a good chance I'll be moving to Little Rock this summer. I wasn't sure where the Arkansans were housed in the CG Regions (Central or East [which, curiously, houses the South]) so I'm glad to know this is where you congregate.

Anyone in Little Rock or Searcy-ish?

I'm in Jonesboro. But then MaryAnn already knew about me and I have a brother in Collierville, TN. Hometown is Memphis.

My name is sometimes a censored word so just call me Duck.

Ian, I think Searcy is a couple of hours from here where I live, which is an hour from Duck there in Jonesboro.  I am pretty sure Little Rock is 3 hours out....

I lived there for a few years but that was before I discovered the joy of good coffee.

Glad to know that, if we end up moving back there, I'll have fellow coffee lovers at least close-ish.

Anyone know of any quality shops in and around Little Rock?

Actually, I made a mistake.  Searcy is only an hour and fifteen minutes from here.  I do not believe you will find excellence anywhere within 5 hours drive, and maybe more, but I may be wrong.  Let's see what some of the others here say....

It's been a while but Java Roasting Company (12800 Chenal Parkway) did an EXCEPTIONAL job with both shots and roasted coffee the last time I was there.

I kinda like Midnight Oil on Race Avenue in Searcy.  It's not up there with shops I've tried in Pittsburgh (Taza d'Oro) and Colorado Springs (Serrano's) but it beats anything I've found in Memphis.

I'll agree with the Midnight Oil comment. They're now under new management and have gotten some much better equipment. In August they installed a 3-group La Marzocco and a Super Jolly.

They're using them pretty well, too.

Any word on Guillermo's Gourmet Grounds in Little Rock?

Never mind java Roasting Company - they're a thing of the past.  Any good espresso in Little Rock or Hot Springs?

Thansk,
