Are there any coffeegeeks in the Burlington VT area?  If so, perhaps an espresso jam could be put together.  Please contact me at mushkat@yahoo.com

I'm not exactly in Burlington,  but I'm much closer than I was.  I just moved to Jericho last week,  from St. Albans.  So atleast I'm in the right county now.   Anyways let me know if the Burlington espresso jam looks promising,  and when and where.   I can be reached through my current coffeegeek email in my profile.

Thanks,

Chris

I've noticed a few more VT coffeegeeks lately, not sure if they are in the Burlington area or not.   Think maybe something like this will ever happen?

Yup! I noticed your location about a week ago; the "Northern Vermont" on something you posted here on CG caught my eye so I figured to get in touch with you sometime soon. We're only about 15 minutes apart. Have you been to the Village Cup on Route 15? Nice people and the espresso is not bad.

Hi Bob,  yes I've been to the Village Cup.  But, it's been almost a year since I've been there.  I drive by there everyday, and I always say I'm going to stop in,  but I've usually had plenty of coffee at home by then.  Maybe I'll stop in later on this morning.  I remember the coffee being pretty good,  I especially like the atmosphere in there.  Have you been to Sacred Grounds in Essex?  I stopped in last week to give it try.  I usually order a mocha when going to an unfimilar shop,  especially if there's no line in front of me.  I was suprised to see that they had the Ghiradelli syrups (chocolate and white chocolate).  I can't say my drink was all that great.  The shot looked decent coming out of the machine,  but I don't know I think their blend maybe too dark for my tastes.  They serve Brown and Jenkins coffee, which I guess is a local roaster in South Burlington. Plus the milk was overheated.  Almost too hot to drink.  You know a place that suprised me, is that little drive-thru shop on Pearl St. in Essex.  I had a double espresso there and it was really good.  But, my favorite local shop would have to be Speeder and Earl's (Pine St. location),  I've been going there, and buying my coffee there for years.   Just curious, what's your favorite local cafe?

Hi Chris,
I have to admit that I haven't tried any of the Cafes you mentioned. I've only been to the Village Cup and I went there mostly to buy her bakery items - she's a good baker. So I don't really have any favorite cafes. In town (Burlington) I sometimes go to Muddy Waters (and bring a scone from Mirabelles with me!!). Coffee leaves a bit to be desired but it's not terrible and I like the atmosphere.

Any Burlington, VT area geeks up for some sort of jam?  I know it's the busy time of year,  but I'm actually on vacation all next week starting this Sunday, so I'd be up for something.  Plus,  I still have some Terroir Daterra Northern Italian roast laying around.  I 'm guessing the Daterra Southern Italian Roast that I have left, will be gone by then.

I'm just a newbie, but am in Essex Jct, so right around the corner from you guys.  I'd be up for something -- maybe I can learn a thing or two.

Also, anyone do home roasting?  I'm considering it, but not sure where to get green coffee.  Seems like anywhere that has to ship it makes the cost more than double.
