So GeekFest III was pretty kick-ass.  We had eight blends to fly through, and though we got a little hung-up at first (we started trying to pull everyone doubles... but then we realized that would have us finishing at like 2:00am), things were pumpin' as we sampled shot after shot, scribbled down notes, and all-in-all had an awesomely caffeinated time.

But we're not finished.

We missed a bunch of great blends the first time around, and it's time to bring those up to bat.

Here is the tentatively scheduled roster of espresso blends that we're gonna sample:

- Terroir Coffee Daterra Northern Italian (with which Troels Poulsen won the World Barista Championship)
- Stumptown Coffee Hairbender Blend
- Taylor Maid Farms Organic Coffee & Tea Organic Panic!
- Victrola Coffee Streamline Espresso
- Coffee Emergency Code Brown Espresso
- Caffe Fresco Ambrosia Espresso
- Counter Culture Coffee single origin espresso selection
- TBA

The Synesso Cyncra that we have gives us the luxury of being able to pull two espresso blends at two different temperatures at the same time, all with rock-solid brew temperatures.  Our best baristas will be pulling this awesome selection of some of the finest that the coffee world has to offer.

This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.  So the event is Sunday, July 17, 2005, at 7:30 PM.  The place is murky coffee arlington, 3211 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201.  Maps and such are available HERE.

Please send an email to geekfest4@murkycoffee.com and provide the names of those attending.  You'll receive a confirmation email, provided there's still room.  We do have a limited number of spots available, so RSVP ASAP, OK?

Oh, and you'd better believe we're gonna record a podcast during this thing!

Hope to see you there!

Thanks Nick!  The Taylor Maid was especially fantastic.  First of many tastings with Murky for me.

Cheers to Aaron and Katie for taking such excellent care with the shots.

Nick,

Thanks a lot for inviting us over. So sorry I needed to leave early. I enjoyed each of the blends I drank, but loved the Taylor Maid organic blend.
