Cafe Fixe
1640 Beacon St
Brookline, MA

Café Fixe is a classy little shop.  They are brewing by the cup pourovers (one of the only shops in Boston) of Barismo coffee and pull Barrington on their 3 Group Mirage Bastone with Anfim grinders for their espresso.  They offer a regular and a guest espresso (currently a coffee by Gimme!), 2 drip coffees, and 2 pourover coffees.

The feel of it is much like Ninth Street (particularly their newest shop) with wood paneling across the floors and counters, and plain white walls.  It is clear that they are about the coffee.  As I got my cup of Barismo Kiandu, the owner pulled his own cup out and took the last bit of the pour to see how it tasted.  He proceeded to adjust the grind based on the taste and time.

They are located in Washington Square on Beacon Street (the C branch of the Green Line is right in front, and Beaconsfield on the D is about a 10 minute walk.) Parking (metered) is also available in the front.

It is definitely worth checking out.

I just stopped in Cafe Fixe today. I am so happy they opened.  I live a block away and have been hoping for a shop like this for a long time.  I can finally get a great espresso outside of house (besides going to Simon's in Cambridge).

I had a great espresso and then proceeded to buy a pound of it for my house, and ordered Barismo Kiandu, they were both exceptional in my opinion. You can tell they care about coffee.  I will be there on a regular basis.

I just moved from CT to Brookline 2 weeks ago and have been searching for a good coffee shop in the area.

I'm glad I have found this thread. Looks like I'll be taking a walk here today. Sounds like they have some decent beans to take home too.

Yay!
