Does anyone want to share thier favorite Pacific North West Roaster? Id like to find out about any recommondations of roasters in Oregon/Washington and the surrounding area...
i love lighthouse and victrola (their roasting has improved in the past few months) in seattle, jjbean (vancouver b.c.), stumptown (portand, or), doma (montana)
i) Caffe D'arte (Seattle, WA)- Pivotal in introducing gourmet coffee in Seattle in the early '90's. Founder Mauro Cipolla is an acknowledged influence on D.Schomer at Espresso Vivace
ii) Batdorf & Bronson (Olympia, WA)- Roasting facilities both in WA State and in Georgia (Atlanta); solid
iii) Fonte Coffee Roasters (Seattle, WA) - Wholesale only ; under-appreciated by those in-the-know
iv) Caffe Umbria (Seattle, WA) - Owned by same family that started Torrefazione Italia in Seattle before they were sold and became part of the StarBurnt, er Charbucks, Empire
v) Taylor Made Farms (Sebastopol, CA) ; Owner Mark Inman has a reputation of being quite knowledgeable
Rejavanate- Since you live in Eugene, check out www.coffeewholesalers.com - they are in Eugene, and sell both roasted and green. I bought some green beans from them and am very satisfied.

Rejavanate, I agree with Woody. I have been buying from http://www.coffeeismydrugofchoice.com/ (yes, same as coffeewholesalers) for almost a year and a half with excellent service. I live over 70 miles north of Eugene, and played hooky last week just to will call my order and check out the roasting side. Met the owner/roaster Charles and his gracious wife Melanie. They rolled out the red carpet and we talked/drank coffee from his new Astoria. I only order 5 lbs. per month, yet walked away feeling like royalty. I feel this family is in the business for the love of coffee, which has now become very important to me. Pardon the rambling, my Isomac Tea was waiting on parts for over a week and I am now Way Over caffeinated with Ethiopia Mocha Harrar roasted by “my drug dealer of choice” :-o
If there are any Salem/Stayton Oregonians who wish to join forces on Bi-weekly orders, please post here. 5lbs orders split with shipping becomes very reasonable $ wise. Heck, road trips are also an option <vBg>
I want to thankyou all; this was very helpful information. I looked further into both Stumptown and Doma, however I might be using one of two which were not mentioned; Cuda Coffee or Bridgetown Coffee. I hope you are all aware of the quality products these two roasters have to offer. I havent made my final decision but Im leaning towards Cuda Coffee. Does anyone have any comments they'd like to share regarding Cuda Coffees?
