Don't know if anyone here is that interested but the 2005 United States Barista Championships will be happening in Seattle next week. Here's your chance to put the CoffeeGeek screen names to the faces and see these Baristas in action.
Jay I wish I could go and compete (for the first time) but I have finals right after... BOOO!!!! my friend Dan is competing. BUT, if you are going to the WBC, I'd prolly see you there!
Peter
PS, if i join the BGA soon enough, you'll have my vote =D
I'm confused? I didn't know that I did anything. But your welcome LOL.
Unfortunately, I won't beable to make it to the USBC because of school finals. BOOOO. So I'm going to try the World Barista Competition instead. Maybe there will be a BGA booth there. Have fun at the competion for me.
The USBC is open to the public and is free. If you're in Seattle, you should absolutely attend. Thurs 10 March-Sun 13 March at the old temporary Seattle Library (corner of 8th and Pike). Begins each day at 9am except Sun which begins at 10am. Thurs/Fri are qualifiers. Sat is Semi-finals. Sun is finals.
Your chance to see some rockstar baristas in action.
Any recommendations on which day is better for someone who's never been? I mean, I can't ignore this when it's in my backyard! But I have zero idea of what to expect, and can't go for all three days.
