So it is Barista competition time again. Now is your chance to come have a great espresso time. We are holding an instore competition on January 30th to decide the two best Barefoot Baristas who will represent Team Barefoot at the Western regional Barista Competition in march in Sonoma.

So EVERY Sunday and monday night in January we will be closing at 8:00 pm and holding practice sessions from 8:00 pm till 10:00 pm. All are welcome to come and cheer the espresso on. All of the Barefoot coffee roadies will be competing in the in store competition.

We also need some judges to help judge the drinks so if you want to be a judge let us know. If you want to be a judge then study the judging form before coming so you are familiar with it. here: http://www.scaa.org/about_regional_next.asp  download the technical and sensory judging sheets.

We will NOT be serving any drinks but there will be plenty of mistakes and practice drinks to be had.

So come on down and party like a coffee roadie!!

I'm in on the 30th (plus whenever my study schedule allows), and so is Frank.

Sounds like fun, but I don't know if I can be staying out that late (my daugher has school early)...  I'll try to make it to some of them at least.

So, you say the 30th here (a Monday), but the sign in the shop says the 29th (Sunday), which is the actual day & time?

Cheers to Andy. I had a fun time doing the sensory judging, and thanks for all of the espressos. And I finally got to meet the elusive Gary. :)

we need judges for the Competition on Sunday. We need at least 8 sensory (taste) judges and 4 technical judges (technique)

the competition is Sunday the 29th from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

it is FREE! and lots of fun!

email me if you want to judge. you will be judging 2-4 Baristas drinks NOT the whole teams drinks.

I'll be there, I'll drop you an email as well. I am also planning on taking the judging test for the western regionals too. Also the WRBC rules and score sheet are now posted on the SCAA's web site:
