Subject: Fresh roasted beans in Sacramento?

I have a friend in Sac who is currently relying on Peet's for beans. I'm sure he can do better. I live in SF, so I can't really help him much.

I looked on the SCAA website and found Java City and TerraNova. Are either of those better than Peets?

Any help is appreciated.  :-)

I did a search (google is my hero) in alt.coffee and found these two. Anyone have comments on these?

Hi Bluenewt,

So far in Sac I've found that the Fair Oaks Boulevard on Fair Oaks near Manzanita roasts daily.  This is the best I've found in Sac.  They're near the California Family Fitness around Fair Oaks and California.

Try the Naked Lounge on 15th and Q. THe owner is completely insane (in a good way!) His name is Chris Pendarvis so ask for him when you go and tell him Andy at Barefoot sent you!

Chris also runs the Chico version of Naked Lounge, about 90 minutes north
of Sacramento.  On 2nd Street and very popular.

By the way he also operates a nice cafe by the name of 'Sin of Cortez'
here in Chico.
