Thanks for asking. I'll be there in April and was planning to ask next month.

Sorry I missed you.
Phoenix has Cartel, which I can highly recommend. One in the University area (Ash and University) and one in Scottsdale on 5th Ave.
There is Lola, downtown just south of the 10, that I've heard good things about; 'Press' http://www.presscoffeefoodwine.com/locations/,
and a couple of the Seattle's Best locations, and in Gilbert, Liberty Market.
I haven't had the fortune to try a lot of these, other than the Cartel.

Exo Roast in Tucson is our favorite, after trying them all.  Cartel is second best in our opinion.

Exo Roast is, in fact, pretty danged good. Unfortunately, until fairly recently, I was never able to make it there while they were open. Skilled and knowledgeable baristi and roasters.

N Sixth Ave, just before you go under the RR tracks to get to downtown, or, N6th just after you exit the underpass from downtown, across the street from Miller's Surplus.

Any updates on coffee houses in this area? I will be visiting for a few months and need to find my spot?

Cartel was good. Although was over in the location near the University and it really made me feel old.

Agreed -- any updates?  Specifically (for me) in the Scottsdale area?
