This is to mirror the Calicentric threads that have just emerged, so the same suggestions would apply. Use this forum for leaving the name, address, phone number, and/or website of your favorite espresso/coffee houses in Tucson and Phoenix (and surrounding areas) with a brief synopsis. There have been a lot of great places mentioned out there, so let's try and consolidate all the places on one list here. No debating or reviews, please. Just names, addresses, and website. (Chain places like Peet's, Starbucks, etc. need NOT be mentioned). Note: Format stolen blatantly from Gusto without permission in the interest of uniformity. Hopefully, forgiveness is forthcoming...

All three Seattle Espressos serve some ballin' iced coffee/toddy/cold brewed coffee... ...and in Arizona, it's drastically needed. I'd stay away from the espresso drinks; but Batdorf and Bronson is available in whole bean, just remember to check the roasted on date. Ahwatukee 4722 E Ray Rd # 12 Phoenix, AZ 85044 Gilbert 891 N Val Vista Dr Gilbert, AZ 85234 Tempe 1840 E Warner Rd # 136 Tempe, AZ 85284 Cabin Coffee 6525 W Happy Valley Rd # C104 Glendale, AZ 85310 Cabin Coffee in Glendale has a nice feel to it and I've never been served a low quality shot of espresso. They do some interesting things with their chai there that gives it a pretty decent (and different) taste. The sandwiches they offer come highly recommended as well. Lux Coffeebar 4404 N Central Ave # 1 Phoenix, AZ 85012 A personal favorite of mine, no matter what's said around the Arizona boards, is Lux Coffeebar. They've been getting into roasting for their own shop, they pour latte art, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. However, I do have to give a bit of warning that I've noticed that a bit of lax care is taken during the afternoon and I've been disappointed with some shots I've been served during the afternoon hours. My recommendation is to visit it later into the evenings for a top quality shot of espresso. Also, home espresso enthusiasts should grab themselves a pound of their house espresso...so long as it's in date. The espresso is sweet and reminds of me of chocolate covered cherries, especially when pulled as a ristretto.

My brothers live in Tucson and I'd rather not have to fly down my espresso machine and local beans to show them what espresso/machiato is suppose to taste like. One of my brothers say that nothing he's tried in Tucson even compares to 'Serious Coffee' from the lower Vancouver Island which I really hope isn't true, because Serious though they roast their own isn't super. Someone please save me the task of shipping down my equipment and pointing to a cafe in Tucson with an international standard that roasts their own and can compete in a barista comp. Much appreciated...

They pulled good 'spro, decent foam (a little sudsy for me) and their staff were nice and courteous. Sorta odd, I'm used to a bit more prima from my baristi. The place did have a bit of a paper-hat PBTC air to it, but the espresso they produced soon quelled those rumours. And, they sponsor the Aggress bicycle team, so your money is going for good 'spro and a good cause!

I like the reason why it was opened in the first place. The owner always thought, on the way to her previous job, how nice it would be to have a coffee shop there. So she opened one. Very inspiring.
