Is that still considered West?  Is there anything there at all?

Idaho is generally considered part of the northwest, west, or mountain regions depending on classifications used. :)

Nampa is high crime, has gang problems, and so on.

Boise is a wonderful small city with many good coffee shops. Meridian (between Boise and Nampa) is a fast growing area with a couple of good options too but not yet overwhelmed. The Library coffeehouse is the best in that area, great feel, and a nice, solid cup of good coffee, nothing orgasmic (except the caramel rolls), but really good; can approach excellent if the owner is running the machine. Boise almost exclusively leans toward a funky atmosphere and above average but not stellar cup.

Hope this helps,

Chey
