Barefoot isn't roasting Kneebuckler anymore, which is disappointing. It was definitely my favorite espresso blend from Barefoot, but apparently they no longer are getting the Sidamo.
Thats what I thought, because we stopped carrying the Sidamo Oromia for that very reason, but a few weeks ago a 5lb bag of Kneebuckler showed up on our doorstep...? Weird, but crazy delicious.

if that really were the case, it truly would be a sad day. kneebuckler has always been one of my favorite barefoot offerings. maybe ben's got it right and it was perhaps just a seasonal disappearance.
thanks for the hospitality, j. steph and i enjoyed our visit even though most of the shots were a little flat, as you forewarned since you were at the tailend of every coffee you had in the shop. tasting every coffee you had left, however, made the drive back easy. nice how at home cg'ers are meant to feel at just about any third wave shop they make their way to.
definitely the stand out on our trip to javaj was what you had on drip. if memory serves it was this el salvador from pt's -- very lush and fruity.
thanks also to temple and empire, who also served us up some great coffee on this road trip. the guatemalan peaberry was still incredibly buttery in my cup, and the capps lucky pulled for us were two of the best 114 capps we've ever had.

My wife and I were driving from the Bay Area to Truckee to visit a friend this weekend so that gave me a chance to visit JavaJ in Roseville. At JavaJ I had a double ristretto pulled with Ecco Caffè’s Northern Italian Organic Espresso Blend. This time it was a very nice shot which tasted sweet with nice fruit. Bottom of the cup had nice complexity. It was so good I had a second double. Very enjoyable. It made my day!

At JavaJ they were pulling Ecco Brazil Fazenda Cachoeira yellow bourbon SO shots. They told me these beans were used in the Ecco Caffè’s Northern Italian Organic Espresso Blend. Nice SO shot!

While at JavaJ I bought some PT's El Salvador Orange Bourbon SO beans. Pulled some shots with it at home six days after roast. It tastes like a fresh squeezed orange. Nice acidity.

I also got some PT's Columbia Huila El Palacio. A long 35 second extraction resulted in nice floral flavors and a faster extraction gave more citrous flavors. I have plenty of beans left to play with different extraction parameters.

Gary,
I was your barista at JavaJ. Glad to hear you enjoyed the coffee. Please come back and see us again soon, we are always changing up our coffees and should be getting some interesting coffees in soon. Jake
