My wife and I were passing through Bishop over the weekend, and after the obligatory stop by Schatt's, I told here I had to see if I could meet a fellow geek. No arguments from her (a semi-geek who hasn't come "out of the closet" yet). We even bought some of those gooey Schatt's cookies to go with our coffee.

Imagine my disappointment when a sign in the front window said that the shop was closed for inventory! What are the chances?! I moped as we made our way back to the car... Until I saw that the Galen Rowell gallery was open. Still a bummer about his passing. But what a life he had. And his photography will inspire so many to come.

And as far as getting a good shot, we pass through Bishop a couple times a year on the way to backpacking or skiing trips... Guess the shot'll have to wait.
