I didn’t know about this place till two days ago. It has been written about in coffee blogs. Many reviews about it on Yelp. I found out about it here http://www.sanfranmag.com/story/new-buzz#story_top

The Coffee Bar opened in December 2007 and is about 12 blocks southeast from 4 barrel coffee. Nice patio outside to enjoy coffee and food.

The Coffee Bar has two levels. Nice to look down upon the action. I had this espresso made from Mexico Fiech Chiapas beans. Crema doesn’t look very interesting but it was a nice shot with lots of complexity.

The Coffee Bar uses beans from Mr. Espresso (I know, it's not BB or Ritual). I had this nice Neapolitan espresso. Again crema doesn’t look very interesting but it was a nice shot with plenty of different flavors. Only thing missing is body. Both espressos I had were good, just not as good as espressos I can get at Ritual and 4 Barrel.

Real reason I went to the coffee bar is to have a coffee made on the Clover (no Clover in the south bay). Made with Harrar beans it was nice to enjoy with an almond croissant.

This photo shows a portion of the second level which is large and spacious with lots of natural light coming in. With the Coffee Bar being so close to Ritual and 4 Barrel Coffee it is definitely worth a visit when you’re in the neighborhood.

I enjoy this place.  The espresso is not quite as complex as some of the other neighborhood stars, but it's probably more consistently good.  Luigi has a different philosopy: since the family espresso style is usually consumed with sugar, the roasts are designed to complement sugar very well.
