Anyone try the new Element Coffee Shop yet? A friend told me they are serving Barefoot coffees.
From last week's Ventura County Star:
WHAT'S NEW IN OLD TOWN CAMARILLO: The old Palermo sign was still in place Tuesday morning, but owner Zach Bancroft hopes to have the coffee house at 2364 Ventura Blvd. (482-3433) transformed into its new incarnation, Element Coffee, by 7 a.m. Friday. That's the start of grand-opening festivities heralding the switch to organic, free-trade {sic} coffees and teas and the addition of natural sweeteners such as agave nectar and vanilla syrup.

I've been--I enjoyed my shot of espresso and a Soy Au Lait + Shot. Great setting in Old Town. Will make another stop next time I'm that far down the 101.

Stopped by Element yesterday on my way back from Ventura. The shop is located off the Lewis Avenue exit on the south side of the freeway in Old Town Camarillo on Ventura Blvd. It was around 5:30ish and it seemed like it was the only place open on the whole block, which was kind of weird for a Saturday.
Anyway, the coffee shop has a great, relaxed feel with the espresso machine having this wicked green, metallic cover. It's an eye catcher. I was actually looking to pick up some beans and was pleased they had an assortment, including the house Element Espresso, which is roasted by Barefoot. I was in on the 14th, and most of the coffees seemed to be roasted on the 9th. Picked up a cappucino, which comes in an 8oz cup to go or a 6oz ceramic cup if you're drinking in-house. (I got mine for in-house).
The cappucino had a sweet, mildly bright, almost fruity flavor. Really enjoyable drink. I was definitely glad I stopped by. Excellent stop-over place for the coastal drive to or from Ventura/Santa Barbara. Whole bean coffee comes in 12oz bags (Element Espresso was $11.00 for a 12oz bag).
Pulled some shots with the Element this morning and it had the same, syrupy fruitiness(?) as yesterday in the cappucino. Thanks to Marshall for the heads-up on this coffee house!

I was in LA on the weekend and also visited Element Coffee. Just two blocks from HWY 101. They told me this espresso was pulled with the Barefoot Bigfoot blend. No chocolate taste but lots of nice fruit forward flavor. Good enjoyable shot!
