Subject: Esmeralda - $14.95/12oz at Klatch...

I've been to Coffee Klatch the past couple of weekends picking up some outstanding coffee.  Figured I'd let everyone know this past weekend when I stopped by they had Esmeralda non-auction lot 12oz. bags for $14.95.  I can't remember what they were going for before, but I think it was right around double that price.

My first experience with Esmeralda was at Intelligentsia on the clover, and I wasn't really overwhelmed.  I'm glad I decided to pick up a bag from Klatch, though, because in the French Press at home (and as espresso), I've had really, really outstanding results.

Other great coffees I've had from Klatch recently would be some Ethiopian Worka and Aricha 2.  The Aricha 2 has an outstanding blueberry flavor that, for me anyway, lasted about 7 days after roast, then significantly faded.  The Worka batch I got was pulling well up to 14 or 15 days after roast.  I really liked the Worka in cappucinos, too.

Klatch has also had some Costa Rican Blue Batak, which I got to try at Verve awhile back.  I haven't tried it from Klatch, but I may pick up some the next trip out.  For those of you who are local and want to get your hands on the Western Barista Championship  Espresso, I would call in advance.  They haven't had any in stock the past 2 times I've been in the shop (San Dimas location).  Everything else I've been getting (and this is on a Sunday by the way), has been no more than 2 days out of the roaster.
