I'm umming and ahhing endlessly on what to upgrade to (right now I'm just using a Gaggia Classic). If there was somebody close by who was generous enough to show me their machine I would be very grateful!

Also, obviously if there's a local dealer with a showroom that would also help but I didn't have much luck looking on that front.

I'm a little out of your way these days, but I loves my Vivaldi II S1.  If your out in Sacto by some chance, give me a call.

You might want to give Great Infusions a call.  Local is relative in the world of espresso equipment, and these guys are relatively local, have a showroom, and will let you play around.  They also have great service.  We are happy customers of theirs.

Cheers,

-J.

J - thanks for the offer. I found someone who kindly volunteered to demo me his machine in SF. I may end up heading down to Great Infusions too - thanks for the recommendation!

Cheers,
Joe
