We are just adding espresso to our menu.

What roasters do you work with in Santa Cruz and specifically what beans/blends do you recommend at each location (and also what not to purchase).  Price/pound?

Needing recommendations for espresso and brewed coffee.

Thank you for your honesty.

Hi,

I highly suggest you contact Andy Newbom from Barefoot Coffee Roasters in Santa Clara.  (408) 248-4500.  He isn't in Santa Cruz, but does wholesale coffee sales in addition to having a really top notch coffee shop.   I'm sure he can provide some good recommendations not only on beans and blends, but maybe equipment as well.

No I don't work for him, but I do respect his opinions on coffee.

What machine do you have? What grinder?  What type of establishment, and what volume of use are you planning for?

I would check out Verve and Barefoot, too.  Go to their establishments and taste their espressos . . .

Price per pound will be wholesale, not retail, so there's no real point in asking that question -- except to them.
