you should definitely get a bag. i use friendo pretty exclusively at home, and have for about the past 2 years. it's easy to work with, great as espresso, and great in a cappuccino as well.

The group buy on massdrop.com seems to be offering one of two blends: Guatemala Chuito and Friendo Blendo. Have you tried french pressing the friendo? Do you have any experience with their guatamala bean?

Looks like Four Barrel is purchasing the De La Paz and will open a cafe at the Mission street roastery.

i would not recommend the friendo on a french press. you can do it, but it's really better as an espresso blend. i have had the guatemala chuito, but i brew with a clever and not a press. the chuito is a single origin-- the friendo is a blend. at the massdrop price i'd say it's definitely worth a try.

That stinks I really enjoyed his roasts, but will be interesting to see how the split brand goals will work out.

As far as friendo blendo I too have been using it a lot, and liked because it normally did well IMHO as a espresso and drip. However, the recent blend is only good as espresso for my taste buds.

Less water, more grounds.
