About seven baristas from all over the bay area competed using coffees from Tony's. This event, which was held at the Tony's Coffees & Teas wholesale location in San Jose, gives each barista a very nice opportunity to compete, using a Synesso, and work with coffees from Tony's. The winner of this event is sponsored by Tony's to attend the upcoming Western Regional Barista Competition. Each barista had to prepare four espressos, four cappuccinos, and four signature coffee drinks, and try to do it all under 15 minutes. Each barista used a different single origin coffee or blend from Tony's. I can't remember what coffee each barista decided to use. First competitor was Brendan who is a barista at Red Rock in Mountain View. I had this absolutely awesome tasting ristretto pulled by Brendan.
