Very different than the usual Peet's, they have (as most do) two 2-group LM Lineas, Swift, a three "urn" commercial brewer, and a Mahlkönig VTA 6S ("Robbie the Robot") bulk grinder, but this one also has a Mahlkönig Kenia for grinding one cup's worth of beans at a time, and a brew station with individual filter cones for brewing up to ten individual cups at a time.  They will brew a cup for you from any of their coffees . . . .

Nice.

Cheers,
Jason

Well, that's nice and all. Hope this bodes well for the future of Peet's. I have always liked them as a business, but can no longer tolerate their over roasted beans.

Maybe they will catch the third wave and start making really goooood coffee.

Have you tried it out? Anything worth drinking?

Every Peet's used to brew by the cup if you asked. They'd make you a french press of anything you wanted. I'm not sure if they still do.

Peet’s serving S.O. espressos! That’s different for Peet's. Besides decaf espresso, on Monday and Saturday Sumatra Blue Batak is the only bean they use to pull espressos and make cappas and lattes. They must have bought a lot of Blue Batak to be able to do that.

I’ve had Sumatra Blue Batak before from Paradise Roasters and Verve. Blue Batak has a very distinctive flavor so I was hoping that even with a darker Peet’s roast to still get a nice Blue Batak shot. I ordered two double espressos. One was pulled in a 2.2oz cup, and the other in a 4oz cup.  Shots had some nice flavor but at home these would be sink shots. Disappointment.
