Brewing up Streetlevel now, very tasty; also a medium roast, but spicy and a lot more tangy acidity to it.

Driving back from LA to the Bay Area I drove by Santa Barbara and visited the French Press coffee house. I found a parking spot a half block away which happened by chance to be next to a restaurant, Jeannine's, which started serving coffee from Stumptown just one month ago. I arrived late in the afternoon and they stopped pulling Hairbender espressos, but I did buy a bag of Guatemala and Burundi coffee beans which were only 5 days after roast. Next time I'm in Santa Barbara I'll try some Hairbender shots (they do use Swift grinders).

Verve Panama Elida espresso pulled at the French Press coffee house. Very smooth body with milk chocolate and very nice fruit. Very good shot!

Lattes and a macchiatto made by Julia. The togo latte was for me and had very nice sweet steamed milk. Looks like the French Press is doing very well, they were packed with customers.

The French Press is pulling some of the best shots in California. I LOVE that place.

Here it is. Stumptown Hairbender double espresso at Jeannine's in Santa Barbara. They use a Swift grinder. Pulled directly into the cup. My expectations were low but this Hairbender espresso had nice chocolate and complexity. Not as good as Hairbender espressos I can get in Portland but still pretty nice.

Just a half block from Jeannine's is the French Press coffee house on State street in Santa Barbara.

I just wanted to pile on the praise for The French Press. They recently served me my first good shot of espresso and have gotten me absolutely hooked.
