Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to hit it up, but currently my schedule looks like it filling up, which doesn't facilitate driving too far for coffee. Now I regret not having a portable set up for travel. Any other suggestions closer to the convention center/Disney area?

Kean is MUCH better than ANY of the chains, they are not too far either. I kind of like them a little more than PCL. That isn't a put down for Portola, not at all, I really like them but the coffee is just as good at Kean and it is a MUCH nicer place to sit and drink than Portola, not that it is BAD at Portola.
You will need a car but it is only about 15 min from Dland. if that.

Flying off back to OAK in an hour. Thanks for the suggestions. I went to Keans for some nice coffee. Some improvements still possible, like not burning the milk, but overall drinkable, and there really weren't any options around mouseland. Do other LA counties offer better options?

Had to laugh at other "LA" counties
LA itself has a lot of places to go. So does Pasadena and there are some good choices in Venice. I've always been surprised that there are only 2 of note in Orange County. I live in a much more depressed area and we have at least 3 to choose from now.
I think it's like having a job, it's easier to get a new one. I think the more high end places that come into an area, the more high end places come in, if that makes sense.

If they burned the milk, you should have said something. I have tasted "off" flavors on occasion, mentioned it and they worked with me until we found the source and corrected it, every business has new people and sometimes things slip through the cracks but they have always been responsive to any quality issue I have had. I am sorry your trip could have been better, and No, I have nothing to do with the company!

Susan, I'm still trying to figure out how and if socio economic status in an area ties in with the number of specialty coffee shops. I used to think that there was a correlation, however, the city I work at now has rather high wealth, but no good coffee anywhere to be found. The correlation to *$ stores seem to be stronger. There seems to be an underlying anti-corporate vibe at third wave cafes that don't quite jive with corporate culture and/or old money. My 2 cents.
Wayne, No need for apologies. I really appreciated the suggestion. Perhaps I should have said something about the milk, but I did wonder if this was done on purpose. I know of more than a few individuals who have told me the temperature of properly steamed milk is just too lukewarm. So, I didn't want to be a bother, just in case it was a conscious decision. Plus I didn't have much time to spare.
