Hello again.
I've been talking to Demitasse, and we are good to go for the second Coffee Charrette . We're going to be doing some brewing this time, with the help and guidance of the professionals at Demitasse. So far there will be:
Siphons
V 60
Aeropress
Clever
French Press
Beehive Pourover
Chemex
I'm still working on the coffee lineup and making sure that all of the supporting gear is there. Weather permitting things may go down on the "porch", which would make for a pretty nice Sunday morning. I think things will kick off at 9:00am. I will see if it can be pushed back a bit, I know that it's early for anyone not in the immediate area. My brew skills a pretty limited (I grind for cupping more often than I do for actual brewing), so I'm pretty excited to get some pointers and see other people's workflow. I'm also looking forward to doing some side by side comparisons between different brew methods.
A lesson learned from last time: there is free/cheap weekend parking in Demitasse's building. I was there before anyone was staffing the structure, so my parking was free, otherwise at some point I think it costs $3 for the day. That should make it a little less stressful for those making a drive.

I will be in LA on Saturday the 23rd so I will endeavor to stay over. I subluxed my patella 2 weeks ago (dislocated my kneecap) and I'm not sure after Saturday if I'll I will want to is stay in bed, but sounds like a fun thing.

I regret not noticing this local part of the forums. But now that I've found it, I'm pretty happy. I'm in for the 24th if there's room for a new guy. I'm working on some alpha builds of my roasts, not sure if they're good enough to share with anyone yet though...

Hey Brian, there's always room for another coffee lover. There seems to be a lot of roasters in these parts, so I'm excited about putting together a home roasting charrette next. Anyway, its great to have you onboard, welcome!

I will not be able to attend, I am getting ready to do my yearly one week blacksmithing demo in Yosemite (Wawona) for the National park service so other things need to take priority.
Good luck! and have a GREAT time !
