I'm having fun getting to know my new machine and grinder at home with the help of this forum, YouTube videos, and lots of trial-and-error, but I think it would also be useful to go to a class for some hands-on training. This being the Bay Area there are classes for EVERYTHING--except espresso-making, it seems. A few local cafes offer classes on brewing better coffee at home, but they're all about pourover/drip/Aeropress, not espresso. Do you know of any cafes or learning centers (adult schools, hackerspaces, community art/craft centers, etc.) that offer classes on making espresso?

I to live in the bay I find it more hard to find espresso parts in the bay for my gaggia classic. I would recommend making friends with a good barista. I was fortunately my friend has been a barista for over 5 years and owns isomac and mazer so I can always compare my technique and equipment. I been to many good cafe in Berkeley and Oakland due to its high level of hipsters, you should be able to find someone who be willing to share info.
