Hi All,

Do any of you bay area locals know of good coffee in San Jose? Either a local roaster/retail or a shop that serves from a good source and does manual brew and quality espresso?

Thanks,

John

Thanks!

I don't know if I'll be able to make it too far out of the city, itself. Do you know if the Barefoot roastery shop in the city serves retail as well?

Where are you staying in SJ?  Chromatic and Bellano are only about 10 mins from downtown and 2 minutes from the San Jose boarder.  B2 is in downtown.  I've never been to the downtown location of Barefoot.

I have no personal experience with the following but it was recommended on another thread.  It is in San Jose.

I'll be right downtown. Near the convention center. I can definitely get to Chromatic then if it's only 10 minutes away. Thanks!

That's good, your right by 280 so you should get there in less than 10 minutes (I will guess 8 but Google claims 11 from the convention center) if it is not rush hour.  Do be aware of rush hour because it could take your less than 10 minute drive to more than 20 if you leave at the wrong time.  B2 is great and just on the other side of downtown from where you are (a less than 10 minute walk).

Chromatic and Bellano are really close to each other. Bellano does not roast, but they are way cool people. They do Verve and ...sorry, I forget,, Sightglass (don't shoot me if I am wrong).

My daughter lives in walking distance to Bellano and she loves the people there. Raves about their customer service etc.

Chromatic folk are just the slightest bit right kinda warped. I've been to both when I'm visiting, Atmosphere is different but both are cool.

The world needs more outstanding coffee.
