I came in around 11ish... traffic was crazy because all of those people going to santana row and valleyfair.. good thing i took the lawrence exit hehe.
Anyhoo, the place is so awwsumm.. great furniture, great art, everything was cool... just a little small.. but thats not a problem.
I couldn't get the nekked sweetness shot because they just got a frikkin la marzocco!!!?? Man that machine is sweet!! But what was even sweeter was the shot Monica made for me was frikkin incredible... the best shot of espresso i ever tasted. It was brownish red with tiger flecking... the taste was just incredible.. I got a small bag of element 114 so i could try and reproduce that at home... or atleast at work. I got a chance to talk to monica for a bit and she is one cool girl. Barefoot is definitely the place im stopping at no matter what everytime im in san jo!

You should come down for one of Andy's cupping sessions. It's always a fun time seeing how much we (I speak for myself here) don't know. Andy also hosts the Bay Are Homeroasters meetings. We really have a blast with all of our homeroasting equipment spread out all over the patio. It is worth the trip from Sactown.. Check this link: "Bay Area Home Coffee Roasters Society" We haven't had a meeting since October so I'm looking forward to January's meeting.
We also have a coffee meetup the first Monday of the month.
Oh, and Are you planning on going to Western Regional Barista championships?

hello jon,
when is the january meeting? I don't know really a lot about home roasting, or roasting at all, so it sounds interesting and fun to learn. Also, what do you guys do at a coffee meetup? I want to go! I don't even really know how to cup either.. man i suck haha.. i don't know of anywhere in sacramento where i can really improve on my skills except read it on CG and teach myself... so these things would be really good for me =)
Yea, monica, as well as Miguel from Paradise Roasters in minnesota(?) told me about the WRBCs. I am definitely planning on going just to see what it is all about... also planning on joining the barista guild.. monica was rocking a sweet shirt. I just got to find out some more information about it. But yea let me in on some info about those meetings! Thanks!

The coffee meetups are pretty low key. Andy's goal is to have meetings that a non coffeegeek would feel comfortable at. I think his quote is 'Something you can bring your dad to'.. One month we just tried different coffee brewing methods, (vac pot, ibrik, I forget what else.) I missed the Dec meetup but they sampled a few different types of coffee. I think they had some Folgers, some Maxwell House, and some others. Here's a link: "Santa Clara Coffee Meetup Monday, Nov 1, 7:00 PM" and Here is a link to the meetup site.
I dunno when the January homeroasters meeting is. Usually it's the 3rd weekend of the month. Another local coffeegeeker Huminie helped me bring my BBQ grill in for the October meeting so we got to check out the BBQ drum roaster. Also Chris usually does a demo roast on the Probat.
I missed your shop when I was in Downtown Sac over Thanksgiving. I have family in Davis, but I don't get out that way much.
I wouldn't say ya suck, your latte art rocks. I'm very much a beginner here. I can't pour art for anything.

you should FOR SURE go! We will have two of our Baristas and about 6 other Baristas from cafe customers of ours competing. (we are a wholesale coffee roaster) Signups should be in the next week or two.
I am going to go to judges cert and see if I am cool enough to be a judge. That should be stressful.
Thanks Peter for stopping by and supporting quality and professioanl Baristas and Roasters.

Thanks andy and everyone else (tim, jon) for all the information!
I'm definitely going to the WTBC and joining the Barista Guild sometime soon. I'm also going to try and come to your meeting.. another excuse to go to barefoot hehe.
No need to give thanks for support.. you deserve it. You're actually doing me a huge favor =)
