New educational program and Second Annual Canadian Barista Championship new attractions at Canadian Coffee & Tea Expo 2004 Canada’s largest coffee and beverage trade show & educational forum June11&12, 2004 Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre Vancouver, BC
Toronto, ON--- Specialty coffee and tea markets continue to grow and so does Canada’s only trade show and educational forum for the coffee and beverage trade. The Canadian Coffee and Tea Expo 2004 will be held at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre from June 11-12, 2004 and will feature more exhibitors, new educational courses for the trade and consumer and play host to the country’s best espresso machine operators as they compete for top spot at the 2nd annual Canadian Barista Championship.
Expo 2004 is Canada’s largest coffee and beverage trade show and educational forum where retailers, restaurateurs, industry buyers and decision-makers come together to learn about the latest products and trends influencing the beverage trade in Canada. Over 100 companies will be displaying products from across North America and around the world at the two-day trade show -- from superautomatic espresso machines, tea filters, roasters and bin dispensers to smoothies, flavourings, organic coffee and tea, gelato and Yerba mate.
The Canadian Barista Championship which debuted at last year’s Expo will again draw large crowds to the trade show floor and be an opportunity for visitors to join in the fun as well as learn about the skills that it takes to make a proper espresso beverage. Coffee bartenders (baristi), well trained in the art of coffee preparation will take their best shot at the Canadian title and a first prize trip to the World Barista Championships in 2005 in the United States.
New at this year’s educational forum is an all-day intensive seminar for those wishing to open a coffee or tea business, hands-on beginner and advanced workshops presented by the newly launched Canadian Barista Training School, and a coffee and tea knowledge program for the consumer. The trade show will be open to consumers who have enrolled in the program on Saturday, June 12. The forum offers more than 20 classes for the trade for improving day-to-day operations, building sales, as well as tips on beverage preparation, retailing and staff training including reviews of industry trends and statistics, roasting workshops, coffee cuppings and tea tastings. They are presented by the tea and coffee industries’ top experts and educators.
Expo 2004 also offers some great events and networking opportunities including a coffee and tea industry luncheon, welcome reception and a tour of the city’s vibrant coffee, tea and juice bar establishments. June is also the perfect month to visit Vancouver and the Canadian Coffee & Tea Expo 2004 at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre located at city’s spectacular harbourfront.
