Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee Company, Inc. (SWDCC) has launched a redesign of their website (www.swisswater.com). The website “refresh” combines SWDCC’s current coffee trade site and consumer site into one cohesive site with a consistent look and feel, while clearly establishing the SWISS WATER® brand identity and 100% chemical free positioning.
The site’s main focal points are to facilitate consumer purchase of SWISS WATER® Process decaf, to educate consumers and the coffee trade on how the SWISS WATER® Process works, and to provide easy access for the coffee trade to SWDCC resources, like the Licensed Vendor Program. Website content will be divided into several sections: Where to Buy, About Decaffeination, Coffee Industry Partners, Investors, and About Us.
SWDCC’s initial trade website was launched in the fall of 2001 and the consumer site followed in spring 2002. Heading into the summer of 2004, SWDCC felt it was important to update their presence on the web. “Though our experience with our initial website, we now have a better understanding of what information the trade and consumers want us to provide on the site,” SWDCC President and CEO Frank Dennis said. “We want our stakeholders to find our website useful for their individual needs.”
“Where to Buy” will facilitate consumer purchase of coffee decaffeinated using the SWISS WATER® Process, through a user intuitive search engine. The engine will enable users to search for coffee brands and retail locations that use the SWISS WATER® Process by brand name, café or grocery store name, city, state, country, or zip code.
The site will also provide comprehensive information on how the SWISS WATER® Process and other decaffeination processes work, containing similar content to SWDCC’s Decaffeinated Coffee Education Guide and a link to SWDCC’s new Decaffeinated Coffee Education Video.
The coffee trade will note the similarity of the “Coffee Industry Partners" section to the current trade site, providing general info about SWDCC, while providing easier customer access to the benefits associated with SWDCC’s Licensed Vendor Program. The Licensed Vendor section, accessible via a special log-in, will enable customers to order POS as well as download SWDCC’s logo for use on packaging and promotional material.
“The redesign will make it easy for consumers and trade to learn about the different decaffeination processes (chemical vs. non-chemical), with links to this information clearly visible on the home page,” said Eric Buchegger, marketing assistant at SWDCC. “The site will also emphasize that ‘water process’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘chemical free’.”
