VANCOUVER BC - May 7, 2004. The Canadian Coffee & Tea Expo 2004 will host the 2nd Annual 2004 Canadian Barista Championship in Vancouver, BC Canada!

We would like to invite you to this event and witness what barista can do to improve the coffee and espresso around Canada. This brings awareness to great espresso and great baristi all in one place!

Participating Baristi (an espresso bartender or someone who expertly prepares espresso coffees) from the far reaches of the Canadian countryside will compete in this two-day barista championship. Sammy Piccolo from Caffe Artigiano in Vancouver, BC and CBC’s 2003 Barista Champion will attempt to repeat his winning performance from last year’s competition!

The energy level is bound to be high when baristi from cafes around the Great North will vie for prizes, awards and a chance to compete with the world’s best at the 2005 World Barista Championship in Seattle, Washington USA!  This great event is made possible by the Canadian Coffee & Tea Expo 2004 in Vancouver, BC, Krups, Rancilio Espresso Machines, Kerry Foodservice, DaVinci Gourmet Syrups, Oscar’s Syrups, Dairy Land Milk, WholeCup Coffee Consulting, Coffeegeek.com and Reg Barber Tampers.  This event is also endorsed by the Coffee Café Association of Canada.
